Search Engine Optimization
Search Engines read your pages just as your visitors read
your pages. Many sites do have design problems that can greatly
affect Search Engine rankings and Website Visibility. Some
of those problems that interfere with the potential to gain
visitors, users, business and revenue opportunity.
Title Tags - your page title tags should be "Tiger"
title tags. What it looks like: <Title>Your Title Tag</Title>
Your title tag should include more than your company name
and should include keyword phrases while at the same time being
readable. Each of your pages should have one.
Page Copy - No Content. There should be 200-250 words
on a page for the search engines. More importantly the pages
should contain researched key word rich phrases while not
losing the readability. Think of your audience and how they
search for what you offer.
Frames - Sites using frames can cause big problems if
you are wanting to be found by the search engines. Search
Engines see no copy and users generally do not like frames.
Often a redesign is recommended in order to gain that Internet
visibility.
Flash - Search Engines cannot index pages made
entirely of Flash. Avoid submitting pages made mainly with
flash. You need page copy. Unless you follow HTML hyperlinks to
your other pages none of you pages will get spidered by the
Search Engines.
